If you want to mess with me

Get past my bodyguards first. :p

Of course I was just kidding. They aren't my bodyguards. I guess I would never want them to guard me hehe.

What can I say? Though I hate their boss, these guys are cool to be with. :p

Hehehe. :) We had a fun photo op at Crame during the 22nd EDSA 1 anniversary. Who knows? The next EDSA could be tomorrow.

(In between the country's top officials, PNP Chief, Director General Avelino Razon and Armed Forces Chief of Staff, General Hermogenes Esperon.)

Filipino humor

This is a re-post :) Thank you CDC for posting this. :) Gave me a good laugh after a very hectic coverage for EDSA 1 22nd anniversary!

What fainting feels like

I don't really remember how I collapsed. But I was sure that the moment I woke up, I felt an unbearable pain at the back of the head. Only then that I realized my head hit that cemented-park lot in that cold, eerie city of Baguio.

Good thing I was hard-headed (in every sense of the word hehe). Still, I sustained a big bulge at the left side of my head. At least I experienced the tender loving care of my colleagues and the doctors at the Philippine Military Academy in Baguio. The size of the bulge was about half a fist after I collapsed. Ice and first aid did me well. And if you call it bad luck, the place we were staying at was really haunted. For a moment I forgot how badly my head hurt when 'somebody' tried to 'open' the door. We knew that 'somebody' wasn't someone we knew, definitely someone from another plane of existence.

Anyway, I guess this bulge has been preventing me from thinking clearly. Believe me, I spent some 30 minutes writing the previous sentences! That's how hard it is for me now! But I'm still trying to blog, since this could serve as a 'thinking' exercise. After all, I can't bear lose this ability; writing is my job and my passion!

I was scared as hell when I realized I collapsed. Good thing I gained consciousness some 10 seconds after the fall. Imagine what would have happened if I hit my head badly. I'm so scared to have an amnesia! haha :)

Nixlove and I were actually joking about me having an amnesia just minutes ago. He said he is willing to play ala Adam Sandler in the movie 50 First Dates, hahaha :) He's willing to remind me everything about us, if ever I had an amnesia. :) Really sweet guy. :) Now I feel better. :)

And for the record, I collapsed not because I am pregnant! haha :) My colleagues have been joking about that too! Even my Mom accepted the possibility I was pregnant! I collapsed because it was freakin' 8-10 degrees Celcius while we were in Baguio and there was too much methane in my tummy! hahaha :)) So imagine Glorietta 2 and you will get my point. :)

Ohwell. :)

I'm glad the bulge is now not as bad, though I have to prevent myself from taking another pain killer. :)

Not another EDSA

PNP on Makati rally: Not another people power revolution

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines -- The Philippine National Police does not see a repeat of the people power revolution which had toppled two presidents despite an anti-Arroyo rally in Makati City that is expected to draw crowds.

Nonetheless, Director General Avelino Razon said he has put half of the 125,000-strong police force to conduct checkpoints and to maintain peace, especially at the rally in the country's financial district and a known opposition bailiwick.

Friday rallies and Sarah Geronimo

I am confused. A part of me wants to go to Baguio to cover the Philippine Military Academy homecoming while another part of me wants to stay put in Manila for the Friday rallies in Makati City. Who knows? For all we know EDSA 4 could take place tomorrow. And of course I want to be where the action is. :))

Anyway, I can always go back if the need arises.

-----------------------------

Last night, me and my mom watched Sarah Geronimo at the Araneta. I am a big fan! I've always been a fan of OPM. haha :) I soooo love her powerful voice, her sincere performance. :) She also shared the stage with Rachel Anne Go, Christian Bautista and Erik Santos. They were all wonderful! I had a blast listening to the best love songs ever.:)

Most of all, I was so happy to see Mommy happy. :)

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! :) I can't wait for my date. :) Which reminds me, where is he now? hehe. :)

Bicolanos

I take pride sharing my hometown with Joker Arroyo, Chiz Escudero and Jun Lozada, among others.

Bicolanos are known to be always at the top of their game, and most of the time, righteous.

But what's with Joker today? If you watched the Senate inquiry (around 5:30 pm), you'd know why I'm soooo irritated with how Joker acted. Joker is my favorite Senator. Until today.

Mr. Senator, stop doing that to Lozada. We all know what this administration is up to.

Dahil advanced ako at dahil oldies ang type kong music :)

I realized I'm not giving justice to my multiply id (lovefull) the past few days. haha :) So four days before one of my most favorite occasions, I just thought of putting an entry about, well, love. :)

WARNING: Mushy post ahead. :))

Nixove and I were friends long before we became a couple but we did undergo courtship. :) It was a fast courtship for others but it was long enough for us; we knew it was the right time, definitely with the right person. :)

When he was courting me, he gave me a letter (oh you must read those, What a great writer!hehe) and he would usually include song lyrics :) [Don't get mad at me my love for announcing this to the world hehe]

"i can love you like that
i would make you my world
move heaven and earth if you were my girl
i would give you my heart
be all that you need
show you you're everything that's precious to me
if you give me a chance, i can love you like that,"

We knew it was time to give ourselves this once in a lifetime chance to be happy, er happier, so..

"Then you smiled and I reached out to you
I could tell you were lonely too
One look then it all began for you and me
The moment that we touched I knew that there would be

(chorus) two less lonely people in the world
And its gonna be fine
Out of all the people in the world
I just cant believe you're mine
In my life where everything was wrong
Something finally went right
Now there's two less lonely people
In the world tonight."

We (It is I most of the time hehe) were both unpredictable in our moods, would often argue about petty things but would still love each other more the next day.

"Every day's a new day in love with you
With each day comes a new way of loving you
Every time I kiss your lips my mind starts to wander
And if all my dreams come true
I'll be spending time with you

Oh, I love you more today than yesterday
But not as much as tomorrow
I love you more today than yesterday
But, darling, not as much as tomorrow."

Oh, of course it isn't always easy. Those moments however made us stronger. :)

"In your eyes, i can see my dream's reflections
In your eyes, found the answers to my questions
In your eyes, i can see the reasons why our love's alive
In your eyes, we're drifting safely back to shore
And i think i've finally learned to love you more

You warned me that life changes
That no one really knows
Whether time would make us strangers
Or whether time would make us grow
Even though the winds of time will change
In a world where nothing stays the same
Through it all our love will still remain"

There are a hundred other songs I could sing to Nixlove and we even composed a song about us. :p There a hundred more days to share, a hundred more days to keep each other happy  :)

"And if this world runs out of lovers we'll still have eachother.
Nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us now.
I'm so glad I found you, I'm not gonna lose you, whatever it takes to stay here with you.
Take it too the good times, see it through the bad times.
Whatever it takes is what I'm gonna do.
Let them say we're crazy.
What do they know?"

And yes, I'm certain.

"Don't go changing, to try and please me
You never let me down before
Don't imagine you're too familiar
And I don't see you anymore
I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble
We never could have come this far
I took the good times, I'll take the bad times
I'll take you just the way you are..I said I love you and that's forever
And this I promise from the heart
I could not love you any better
I love you just the way you are."

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! :p

What's happening to our country?

First, these bombing rumors circulating through text messages. At first I was not too keen to do a story about it since I don't want to stir panic. But what if these rumors turned out to be true? I would never be able to accept that I failed to warn the public. Good thing the office asked me to do the story.

The text warning, whose originator claimed to be a confidential agent of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP), claimed bombs would be set off at 11 a.m. Saturday in either of five locations -- the Light Rail Transit station in Baclaran, the Tutuban Mall, the Uniwide store in Quiapo, the SM-Manila mall, or the Robinsons mall in Malate. (Click here for full story)

"Alam mo sa amin sa PNP at AFP pinapatulan namin lahat ng information but we have to validate them. Ongoing ang validation since last night," said Chief Superintendent Roberto Rosales, director of the Manila Police District.

Second, everything is just so confusing. Everybody's saying they hold the truth. I somehow believe Lozada and I regret not truly believing Police Director General Avelino Razon. Lozada said he was taken out of his will while Razon insisted Lozada himself asked for security. (click to view full story)

Having covered Razon for the over the past two years, I know how nice and true the guy is (one of the few policemen of such kind that I know). And if it's true he had been told to lie, I pity him. He's too good a man to destroy his credibility for a family like the A*****'s.

Next, there's former Commission on Elections chair Benjamin Abalos. I don't know the guy but his being too feisty when it comes to relating with the media is soooo annoying.

I called him up this morning after Rodolfo Lozada gave his opening statement at the Senate. And as expected, Abalos gave me the cold shoulder and even shouted at me. (click to view full story)

Lest I be shouted at again, I would have to wait for Lozada to finish so I can call Abalos.

Hay. I love my job. And I hate it at the same time. I need a break.

Refusing job offers

I lack sleep. And it's all because of Rodolfo Lozada, the NBN key witness who opted to surface at such an ungodly hour.

It was stupid of me to place my phone inside its holster (which I rarely do). In short, I was not able to hear the calls from the office. I'm just so lucky the desk editors were nice today (alleluia! -tama ba spelling?- hehe). Anyway, I lack sleep because I woke up way way earlier than usual (5 am! hehe).

Went to Wack-wack golf and country club for Benjamin Abalos (not to learn that expensive sport hehe) and went back to Camp Crame for Interior Secretary Ronaldo Puno's press conference. We were all in a daze by 3 pm, trying to figure out which is which, or who's telling the truth. By 4 pm, our minds were already attempting to log off that we already refer to Lozada as Lozano or Lozado.

And the worst is not over yet so I guess I need more sleep tonight. Expect that tomorrow will be a big day. Rallies will surely be all over and who knows what could happen next? We can only wish and guess.

Anyway, I was offered a new job today (could be twice the pay!) but that would mean I have to leave my present employer. It was tempting, yes. But how could I leave the company I have always loved? (naks. :p) My bosses may be rude at times but I know their being ruthless was for my own good, and it's somehow paying off now. I'm not ready to leave my second home. :) Not now, probably never. :)

Why do movies ruin good books?

I just finished watching The Kite Runner (thanks Che for the cd! hehe) and I'm really really disappointed. And I don't think this was the first time I got disappointed with a movie based on a novel.

Kite Runner was a really really good book, the kind you'd want to read over and over, although it hurts. I was so moved that I can't even forget the characters.

But I hate how it was in the movie. Maybe for those who have not read the book and have seen the film, the movie could be considered good. Still, it isn't the same.

The book was so full of imagery and powerful words but the movie did not give enough justice to Khaled Hosseini's writing magic. The movie would have been better if they gave enough visuals (yes, ironic. A movie and still not enough visuals). I'm sooooo disappointed.

That's why I'd rather read than watch a movie. In reading, you expand your vocabulary and the fulfillment is immeasurable after you've finished your last page. Watching a movie, well, isn't that fulfilling, You know what I mean.
