Loving Charcoal
Around mid-April, I decided to adopt a furry, naughty puppy. The pup was from my aunt's dog: Lucy (half Shar pei half Aspin) and Teishan, a corgi terrier. I long wanted to have a puppy, a Shih Tzu to be specific but it costs too much. And hey, breed should not be the reason for getting a puppy.
So there, I got the puppy, took him home and named him Charcoal.
Isn't he the cutest? My cousins don't think so. Charcoal's siblings are typical cute furry friends, and they were white and beige. But I found something different in Charcoal. :) He's so unique I made sure he's happy all the time. :) I even bought him a playpen, lots of puppy food and some dogchew toys. :)
But boy, having him was so difficult! He cries in the middle of the night even if we let him loose. He poops here and there (understandable though!) and he likes to attack our slippers! haha :-)
The biggest problem however was our place. We live in a condo-like apartment and we're located at the second floor. If we let him out, he might fall. But he can't always stay inside because he howls like mad when bored. So we thought of moving into a new apartment. But we couldn't find the perfect place. :(
With a heavy heart, we decided he should go even before the neighbors hit us and even before I get so attached. :( Hay. Fortunately, a better but equally loving home welcomed our beloved Charcoal.
Co-reporter Joseph Morong took him home (yey!) and lovingly, patiently accepted him. He would update us about Charcoal's (now Ne-yo) naughtiness and how he would have this "nakakaawa" look. That look I really really really miss.
For only one week, Charcoal taught me a lot of things. That it is possible to actually sleep beside a dog. Or to actually kiss a dog. Above all, I learned that dogs are not merely pets. And should not be treated so. Charcoal was like a long lost friend. :)
I miss you so much Charcoal! Padingtun misses you too. :)

Why?

Feb 2, 2010
I wish it’s already —— tomorrow.
I wish I have nothing else to do but lie with you in the sand, as waves meet the shore.
Or I wish I am in our new home, cooking your favorite dish, or just patiently waiting for you to arrive from work. Or you waiting for me, prepared with a hug, to recharge my spirits after a hard day.
I wish we’re fighting over the remote control now. Then you’d let me watch my favorite show, but I’ll let you watch yours instead. Then I’ll just watch you and know that life couldn’t get any better.
I know it will come. It will come soon. And I just had to say, I can hardly wait.
For Nixlove.
