I hate spending

Well, who doesn't? Unless you're the son of Bill Gates or you're the sole daughter of an Ayala.

I like it when I have additional savings in my account. But tonight, I blew it. Well, I've been messing up on money the past few days actually. Since January, I think I withdrew a lot (5 digits!! argh) and I don't know what happened to my money. I wish I bought a decent digital camera instead--at least I know where my money went.

Argh. I shouldn't be talking about money in my blog but I can't help it. Tonight, I bought two pairs of (really adorable) flats from a boutique in Galleria and from People are People. I should have went home earlier instead. Promise, no more window shopping next week!! Last week, I bought another blazer (don't ask me how many I have) and the other week I bought an off-shoulder top and I don't think I'll use them often.

I am again tempted to buy a book but the book I want so badly would cost me another thousand. There, my other addiction. Books. And some from my growing bookshelf are yet to be read!

And mom's birthday is coming up too. I want to give her something memorable but if I don't control the shopper in me, I might end up treating her to Mcdo. hahaha :)) Kidding. :))

Oh, I must not forget too that prices have gone high! (Hmm maybe that's why and not because I'm spending too much hehe).

A pancit canton pack (my favorite!) costs around 4.50 php when I was in college--and that was just two years ago. Now a regular pack costs 7.25! Peso has gone up but the prices of basic commodities are also at its all time high! Tsk tsk.

I've improved in handling money after my first few months at work. But I'm afraid I'm returning to my old happy-shopper-ultimate-spender self. Tsk tsk.

Hay. No more shopping for me for the next two months! I'm so going to kll myself if I bought another unnecessary item. :p

  5. As a masculinist, I must object to this sexist statement. Don't Men also have the right to love to spend?

(Hehe. Not really much of an objection I suppose. I'm just saying I enjoy spending a bit too much for my own good, too. haha!)

The truth is, I have yet to meet a normal early-twenty-something who already has a proper nest egg, or even has a plan for a proper nest egg. We all spend just a bit more than we "should." But I suppose there's a reason for that. That expensive pair of Italian leather shoes or that extra pair of high heels that are just the right shade to match 5% of your wardrobe - that stuff isn't useless, after all. Luxurious by most standards, perhaps, but not useless. And luxury or not, wouldn't your life be so much better for owning the new Up Dharma Down CD? (Assuming you object to piracy on moral grounds.)

Perhaps it's not a case of overspending. Perhaps it's a case of under-earning. And not having built up your own cache of worldly goods yet. ("Dad, can I borrow the car?")

The obvious solution is to be rich.

Something's wrong with my logic, somehow. Perhaps I should get more sleep?

(Okay, folks, no flaming please. I was joking, joking, joking. Let's work together to make extreme poverty history, but let's do it with a sense of humor, ayt? ... Hehe. Sobrang defensive ba?)

  6. aww. don't get a credit card. mas tempting yun. hehe!

we used to spend what we see or have daw (like kapag nakita mo may remaining balance ka pa sa bank) kaya para di mo magastos, ibaon mo sa lupa yung pera mo! nyahaha! joke lang. i suggest have 2 bank accounts, one for savings na hindi mo dadalhin ang atm card kapag nagpunta ka sa mall tapos yung isa yung lagi mong bitbit. :)

  7. you can say that again, hahaha.

ako, nung magka-baby lang ako nag-stop yung impulse buying ko (well, sorta...nanunumbalik na naman ata). kasi, when you're out window-shopping, you'll be now forced to think--hmm, yung Zarah tanktop na yan = 2 months' supply na ni baby ng diapers, yung sale na guess pants = 1 vaccination shot, yung pair of havaianas = 2 weeks supply ng gatas, yung Mango paisley wraparound dress = 1 car seat (Gracco pa yan, ha!), kahit merienda mo, 1 McDo fish fillet + drink = 1 pack baby wipe, and so on... hahaha. nakakaloka.

  9. well, you're a very unique guy. Men in my life are soooo good in handling money. hahaha :)) And I admire them for that. :)

And yes, we maybe need to earn more. But I think my salary is enough yet I'm still not achieving my target! hahahaha :))
